Hard to believe that Shareology started on July 26, 2009!  Even harder to believe the great people I’ve met along the way; thank you so much for your readership. Love to look back at milestones?  Here are the top 3 Shareology stories in the past 2 years:

  1. Legoland reopens at Mall of America!
  2. Apple brings their Briefing Room to Uptown!
  3. Branding Opportunity or Ugly Concrete Posts?

So what do YOU want to talk about in the next Shareology post?

Buoyed by the success of the 1st Hacks & Hackers Twin Cities, pri lead the group in a second event on Hacked! – Why You Should Care about Privacy in Social Media?  Opened by a panel of experts in the field, a lively discussion ensued in small groups, culminating in a final sharing of ideas!  No wonder Shareology loved it!!

The panel consisted of Kelcey Patrick-Ferree, attorney @KelcyPF,  Ron Schreiner, Pyramid Technologies,  Lukas Dickie @Gimigo  John T. Hoffoss, MnSCU, @jth, Jon Gordon of mpr @jongordon   and  moderator Michael Skoler of pri @MSkoler

Shareology was recently present at the very moment a monarch butterfly emerged from a jade-like chrysalis to spread its wings in the world:

After resting and adjusting to its new world, Madame Butterfly flew off in the direction of a nature center to meet even more monarchs.  Hope I get a postcard from Mexico.

Lunds & Byerly’s and Bachman’s: Thank You!! July 9, 2011

Shareology just noticed something the other day, something that deserves a thank you.  Ever pause in the midst of your busy day, enter the public facilities and come face-to-face with……..this?

Yep, the sweetest bouquet of flowers, well-selected and a treat to the eye.  So, a belated thank you to Byerly’s, Lunds and Bachman’s, who regularly offer us these eye candy treats.  The fact that each of these establishments also sells take-home flowers is just evidence of smart marketing.   So a standing ovation to the mentioned retailers for delighting their customers in yet another way!!

Career Connection Rocks!! July 2, 2011

Shareology started July off with a bang — so to speak — by doing the coffee and laptop thing with the Editor of Career Connection, Mr. Paul Sears.  Twin Cities folks may recognize Career Connection as the 12 page or so newsletter published every two months by the WorkForce Centers focusing on job search and career change.  Often spotted at churches, schools, libraries and other fine establishments, this paper newsletter has recently gone electronic with its own web section of the State of Minnesota’s web page.  I had asked how viewership was going a few weeks back, and Mr. Sears allowed how it was okay…but could be better.  Shareology grinned and suggested she could help him out.  Having worked with Shareology and gistr recently and a devotee of google analytics and yes, wordpress analytics, she had learned a thing or two in this department.

The irony is that on the first day of the Minnesota shutdown, Shareology was helping drive traffic to a State of Minnesota web site:  you’re welcome.  Much to Shareology’s delight she received the following from Mr. Sears:

Thank you for fantastic online marketing support for the Minnesota WorkForce Center’s Career Connection newsmagazine.  You provided practical, low-cost, low maintenance techniques to increase our readership substantially. Not only that, you gave technical instruction that was clear, understandable and adapted to learner needs and level of expertise.

Thanks for showing me what’s possible with the Web!

Paul Sears
Editor, Career Connection
Minnesota WorkForce Center
State of Minnesota

Okay, that was the business-like testimonial.
Now, in plain language: KAY, YOU ROCK ! ! ! !

As do you, Mr. Sears, as do you.
